How much does it cost and is there any ‘upfront’ payment?

Site costs vary. However, we have a policy of “what we say is what you pay” so you will not come across any nasty surprises. We will always agree with you what you would like us to do, and the costs involved, before we start any work. We ask for a 50% deposit, with the balance paid before your site going live.

What is the process for designing a site?

All you have to do is give us an idea of what you would like on the site - in other words, a client brief. We will send you a simple form by email for you to complete and return to help you give further thought to how you would like your completed site to look. Once we have established your requirements we will provide you with full costing. This is completely free of charge, and you are still under no obligation to proceed at this stage. If you subsequently decide to go ahead, we secure the domain name for you (www.whateveryourbusinessnameis.co.uk) and design a sample page. If you are happy we will then complete the design work and publish your web site to a restricted section of the Internet If you like what you see, we will re-publish the site for the whole world to look at!

Do you continue to update my web site?

We will make any minor amendments completely free of charge for the first year. Major changes, such as adding new pages, are chargeable. All prices will be confirmed before we do any additional work. After the first year we will offer you an optional maintenance contract covering the site and updating content when required.

What are search engines and are they important?

A search engine is best described as a directory of web sites and web pages. They are very important and we always optimise sites to get them as high in the search engine rankings as possible. We will give you more information and advice on search engines when you provide us with your client brief.

I already have an excellent company brochure and my local press advertising is working really well. Do I need a web site?

We would not suggest you stop press advertising (particularly if it’s doing a good job for you) but as more and more people are using the Internet customers are increasingly turning to the web before looking in newspapers. As for your brochure, it will include exactly the right information to use as a basis for your site.
